Beach Rules

Updated October 2020
  • Members of Seaview Beach Association have enacted these rules for the health and safety of all and for the general enjoyment of the beach.
  • No dogs are allowed on the beach at any time from May 1, until September 30.  During the months October through April, dogs are allowed on a leash.  Owners must also clean up after their dogs.  The Association seeks to follow state law and Madison town ordinance.
  • All inboard/outboard boats, jet skis, and other watercraft must stay outside of the bathing area at all times. Please observe the swim buoys.
  • Swim at your own risk. There is no lifeguard on duty.
  • Permission from the president or chairman of the beach committee must be obtained for parties held on the beach. Permission is not required for small family parties.
  • For beach parties held after 5:00PM, permission must be obtained from the president. Please be respectful of our Association’s members.
  • No fires are permitted on the beach unless approved by the president. All approved fires must be contained in a sand pit away from the dunes and below the high water mark.
  • Members are responsible for the supervision and conduct of their children and guests while using the beach (whether the guests are invited by adult members or children of members.) Members should always be respectful of the entitlement of other members to the quiet enjoyment of the beach.
  • No horse-play or rough-housing on the beach or float.  Parents are responsible for their children’s and guests’ behavior.
  • Garbage cans are provided for casual day use, not for party clean-up. You are responsible for your trash clean-up and garbage removal. If garbage cans are full, please remove your trash from the beach. Do not leave broken or damaged beach chairs, toys, or umbrellas on the beach. Take them home for disposal.
  • Do not feed the geese.
  • Association members are responsible to keep their beach box in good condition. Dock boxes are the preferred beach box style.
  • No cutting of trees or brush or dumping of brush, leaves, or grass clippings on Association property.
  • Please do not keep boats or kayaks on the dunes. All water craft should be kept on the beach. Do not chain any water craft to the dune fences.
  • Tents used during the day for shelter from the sun and weather must be taken down and removed from the beach daily. No tent should remain up overnight.
  • All members that rent their homes must post these rules in their houses and inform their renters of our rules.
